Mid-Week Lenten Services

Our mid-week Lenten theme is You Shall Love the Lord Your God and will begin Feb. 29
with worship services at 12:15 pm and 7:30 pm.  We will start with the covenant that God
made with humanity and then focus on loving God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.

Each week in Lent, we will collect items to form LWR Personal Care Kits that help impoverished people
stay healthy in life's most challenging situations.   Check the bulletin each week for the collection schedule.
Questions?  Contact Mindy.

Ash Wednesday - Feb.  22 - 12:15 pm and 7:30 pm worship - imposition of ashes and Holy Communion

TEACH US TO PRAY

Please make note of the Prayer Ventures for February.
You can find them at http://www.elca.org/What-We-Believe/Prayer-Center/Prayer-Ventures-2.aspx
This resource is produced by the ELCA Mission Advancement unit and can be a really useful tool in your daily prayers.
These prayers help to broaden our scope beyond our local concerns to the global, social and outreach ministries of our church.

WINTER WEATHER
The winter months are upon us once again where snow storms can disrupt our daily activities. If a winter storm affects us during the school week, we traditionally
cancel all church activities if school is canceled. There have been times where the weather cleared by the time evening came and we could very easily have had
our activities, but we prevent a lot of confusion if we stick to the rule. So if school is canceled because of winter weather, then Immanuel’s activities will also be
canceled. There have also been times where school went all day, but we had to cancel because the weather was getting worse. Please check on ksallink.com for
school closings or you may call the office or pastor.

In regards to worship service being canceled, that is more on an individual basis based on what the weather is doing and is projected to do. If we have to cancel
worship due to weather, we will contact ksallink.com along with the local radio stations. Again, you are also welcome to call pastor. If you feel that the weather
is too bad for you to get out, please stay home and this is also in regards to confirmation because we do have some who have to come in from the country.
We make our decisions based on what is happening in town and on information from Henry, but we don’t always know what is happening elsewhere in our
county. So please use your own judgment when traveling in the winter weather!
